Equinox

I just finished my first ritual in years. I wrote it myself. I'll probably add to it over the years. It's simple enough that I think it will last me as I grow.

I made two dishes as part of the rite. They are sill cooking in the other room. I think I may freeze some of it to have on shadow fest and yule, sort of a symbol of sustaining me through the dark part of the year.

I had planned on making baked apples, but by the time I got the ingredients ready for corn chowder, and mashed sweet potatoes... I didn't really feel I had the energy or time to peel, slice and core, 13 apples. Maybe I'll make it tomorrow. I've eaten two apples, but as luck would have it there are two others in my fridge... so I still have 13. What I wouldn't give for one of those apple core/slicer thingies.

I cut my hand while slicing the sweet potatoes (from my own garden).
I burnt my hand while lighting the east candle.
I burnt my hand again while checking on the steaming sweet potatoes.
And my ankles are killing me from standing so long in hemp sandals.
I hope the gods appreciate my pain and sacrifice.
