wow yesterday (as of an hour ago) was rather interesting.
I got my emissions test... passed woot!
I went to school. It was just me and one other classmate again. It makes for a sort of boring class, but at least things are more organized with this quarter.
Went to algebra stocked and ready to ace the make-up quiz now that I know what the fuck the prof is talking about. She doesn't ask the questions the way she teaches them. It's annoying.
Thing is we started taking the quiz and I was doing awesome, and almost through when this noise starts coming from the back of the class. At first I think its this kid laughing, as it was sort of a snorting sound. Then I start thinking no that sounds more like an asthma attack. As I turn around someone says "He's having a seizure he did this the other day." I reached for my phone to dial 911, but of course it wass off and took forever to come up and one of my class mates says she's got a 911 operator on the line.
Then the kid starts leaning heavely to one side, and the teacher says soemthing about not letting him fall. So several people ran over and tried to help him to the floor.
Someone went and got the security gaurd, who had apparently been with this same kid last week when he had a seizure. I was kinda ill at the security guy though because as soon as the kid quit twitching the officer pulled him to an upright sitting possition, which I don't think is proper procedure, but who am I to tell an officer how to practice first aid, though the lady on the 911 call said aloud that they told her not to sit him up.
The poor guy was bleeding from his mouth, and was of course dazed and disorented from the after effects of a seizure, When all of a sudden the professor says "Um... just keep your quizzes and go home. we'll figure something out nextime, we just need to get everyone to clear out." So we all packed up and headed out passing the EMTs on the stairs.
So I left class a little shaken and a bit annoyed at myself for not reacting faster. I know First aid, and I know basic procedure with a seizure victem...
So I drove to Starbuck's over in vinings to hang with my friends for our Monday night gab fest. I called my dad on the way and asked him what proper procidure for a siezure patient is, and talked off some of the awkwardness. I think the funniest thing is when I got to the Starbuck's I realized that I had been trying to hurry my quiz along so I could go pee when everything happened, and it dawned on me that I needed a pit stop. LOL
My wonderful buddies greated me with a warm welcome and my friend Kristin made me a yummi Chocolate cake with homemade creamy cheese icing. The bestest bit was she even wrote happy birthday in black icing just for me! She didn't bring any plates or anything so we all just grabbed a fork and dug in. We barely made a dent... it isn't that it wasn't the yummiest just a LOT of cake... so that is now in tupper containers in my freezer to be nibbled on for months.
And since I was in the freezing mode. I blanched an eggplant, and some okra then sliced several tomatoes and put them all in baggies and in my freezer that is about to burst. I'mma have to get out my canning stuff and can the rest of my tomatoes I think. It's just way easier to freeze than can. I mean don't get me wrong I love canning, but it's a whole day kinda afair.
Well I think thats about it for now... prolly gunna go lay down for a bit so I can go to lunch with the office tomorrow and go get my tag. woot! oh at the exciting birthday plans.
