Okay you guys gimme your opinion.

I have a backpacking trip that I was really excited about going on Sat. I've been looking forward to it for weeks.

The problems:
It's supposed to be a low of 18 and a high of 36
It's supposed to be really windy so there is going to be an even lower wind chill.
My backpacking sleeping bag is only rated for 25 degrees
I have a head ache that wont seem to go away and I think I might be on the verge of getting a head cold.

Ways around it:
I could make a fleece bag liner for a little extra warmth, but I don't know how much and I'd have to make it tonight or tomorrow and I'm not really sure how to do it.
I could bring my big huge sleeping bag to double up with, but I'd have to take it to get it washed because the dog puked on it.

Bigger sleeping bag, and double up.

yeah that is most likely what I'll do. I'm more than a little worried about day time temps too. I mean I've got hiking long underwear and several wool sweaters my mother gave me, but I don't really have any good warm pants. The pair of silk pants I had have a major tare along two of the seems. I couls probably check the local thrift stores for some non-cotton jogging pants.

Do you have blankets or a duvet on your bed? You could pack those.

Most of the blankets I have are too heavy to pack in, so i might as well bring the extra sleeping bag that will insure I stay toasty. I might pack in a light weight fleece afghan I have though. Thanks for the idea.

is it possible you could just bring extra sweats and socks. when you go to sleep, wear an extra pair of socks, sweat pants and shirt and just make sure you head, neck and hands are protected.
