So I am really excited about Ostara! I sat down with several of my books and I think I have a really lovely day planned.


I am hoping Kelly can come over early so we can do the magical, and planting parts of the day before the moon enters a Void of Course pattern at 3:28.

I have plans to color eggs, and do a small spell with them, which includes burring them in the garden.

I'd like to make a Ricotta and Broccoli pizza to symbolize the greening part of the year wheel.

Also I have great hopes for the recipe for Earth Eggs, which uses hardboiled eggs covered in lean ground meat and breadcrumbs to represent the egg buried in the earth, then being dug up as you eat. yum!

I'm also thinking of maybe doing an egg breakfast of some sort but I don't really know what that will be yet I really wanna talk to Kelly first.

I'm hoping to do the ritual around noon. Bless some seeds and the colored eggs before heading out to plant in the garden before three!

What a busy day, but doesn't it sound like fun!


I'm also curious... I have a lot of magic planned for the next few weeks... Do ya'll think doing a lot of magic in a short time will make the spells weak or more powerful or have no effect?

You get out what you put in. Not just with effort, and the right moon phase and precise memorization, but heart and passion and Will, too. If you don't feel like some part of it went off well, redo it later, or revisit and boost it later.

good advice thanks. mostly I guess I'm worried that some of passion will be lessened by the fact that I may be spreading the power thin of a sort... but you are right there is always time to booster anything later.

I was feeling the same way a few months ago so I guess I just made time for it. one of my best investments has been the Spell-a-day almanac. It usually has little meditations or spells just to bring magic into the everyday life. And most of them have the moon stuff all worked out already so you don't have to worry with figuring out the right day and whatever. As Llewellyn books go it's one of the better ones.

Are you planning to color eggs with the babes? the egg spell I'm doing is just to write a wish/spell on the egg in crayon and then dye the egg an appropriate color then bury it, asking the deity of your choice to bless it and bring it to fruition. It might be something the whole fam good do together.

DO you all attend any UU services where you are now? I don't anymore mostly because UUCM is the closet and uncomfortable parts of my past are linked to it. if that makes any sense.

Personally, I always feel More effective, the more I do. To a point, of course.
