Eco-ideas!
Jun. 20th, 2004 05:07 pmI've coem up with some interesting ideas lately that solve personal problems I have trying to live a life in mainstream society with my views on waste, reuse, and fair-trade.
One of the best ideas I've come up with lately is tuperware to-go. I've started taking my own tupperware containers with me when I know I'm going to to eat, and I'm unsure of the type of container the business uses as a to-go box.
Doing things this way has given me the opertunity to let wait staff know that styrofoam is a problem. I think it also creates a bigger impact then just telling them. I mean I really mean it I brought my own to-go box! One thing you can do to make it zero hassle and keep your spontinaity is just keep a tupper contianer in your car. A good place for it might be in the spare cloth shopping bag you keep for spure of the moment shoping. :D
I've also been tossing around the idea of leafleting about sweat shope abuses at wal-marts around the city. Or maybe even organizing a protest... Anyone with me on this one?

- Advantage:
- Waste reduction
- creates awareness
- keeps food freasher
- reduces the likelyhood of leaky food getting all over your car
