I grabbed this off an Ohio health site. It’s probably the best diagram of PCOS I've ever come across... Frank Netter's are pretty rad too though. His are a lot less cartoon like. But I liked the comparison between the healthy ovary and the PCOS ovary in this one.
So why on earth am I putzing around on Ohio health sites? Well I was cleaning my room and got distracted by the CIBA Collection Of Medical Illustrations Volume 2 Reproductive System By Frank H Netter, MD. It's one of my favorite books and has been since I did some research a long ass time ago on hermaphrodites. So anyway I've had a lot of problems with my ovary and I got all curious what good ol' Frank had to say about them. So I looked up PCOS which I was diagnosed with er I'd say about a year ago, and then a couple of months ago I was diagnosed with a hemorrhagic cyst on my right ovary probably stemming from the PCOS.
Well I started reading what Frank had to say and I realized how much truly conflicting information I had gotten on the subject. I also realized that while frank is a hero of mine the book I was reading was first published in 1954... I'm pretty sure thoughts on the matter have changed.
So I decided to google it and see what I came up with. Low and behold I found this one pretty rad site that explained things pretty point blank.
Another reason this has been on my mind is that this hemorrhagic cyst is supposed to go away by itself... er at least that’s what we are hoping for... most of them do. This one so far hasn't... How do I know? Well when a girl and her partner decided they are... anyway I can feel that damn thing and it hurts. It also isn't pleasant during any sort of premenstrual symptoms.
Well I'm sure you all really wanted to know about all this :D But I felt like writing it anyway.
